Current political turbulence in Egypt is simply an elitist power struggle. All political groups hovering up there, whether Islamists, or the so called secular, are corrupt to the core. Even figures like El-Bardai and Wael Ghoneim, once affiliated to political factions, will be overwhelmed with more domineering, inherently corrupt figures from the same factions. The polarization between political factions in Egypt is not based on political opinion, or each one's agenda for the well being of the country. It is simply personal gain that drives them all which is not surprising considering that these figures have lived either thriving or moaning under successive dictatorships. They were part and parcel of Egyptian politics whether on the top or at the bottom. Now, it is each of these figure's one and only opportunity to jump and secure power, manipulating in the process the fragile feelings of the ignorant majority.
No one will hand Morsi a life line in this crisis simply because no one truly cares about the well being of this country. And Morsi, to be honest, has been paralyzed these past months by a corrupt system that has virtually turned him into a scarecrow president. The Judicial system is corrupt, to say the least about the media, police force, and the entire bureaucratic body of the country. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And he did take desperate measures, going too far in the process. This was the perfect opportunity for the vampires lurking in the dark. Instead of a low toned, sincere approach to the dilemma, they unleashed their venom in the media, mobilizing an entire nation that is half illiterate and in dire need of redemption.
The people now camped in Tahrir are not really against the Muslim Brotherhood, but are in search of a good, decent life where social justice is upheld. And little do these demonstrators know that the alternative to Morsi will not bring about a happy ending. All these elitist figures waiting in line to replace Morsi are not better options because none of them holds the interests of this country to heart.
Morsi will not back down, and no one will give him a life line because personal gain is more important. This will be a long, dreary tug of war that will eventually ease down to confined animosity. But it is the people who are paying the true price, who are being manipulated by all parties, and all corrupt figures. And the true explosion will arrive when they eventually realize their grand deception, and revolt against them all. Soon, soon my friend.
